Smoked Sausage with Homemade Macaroni and Cheese
Smoked sausage is coated with a spice rub, then grilled and served with homemade macaroni and cheese.Prep Time: 30 minutesTotal Time: 30 minutesMakes 8Ingredients
1 package (16 ounces) Eckrich® Smoked Sausage 1 teaspoon ground black pepper 1 teaspoon paprika
3/4 teaspoon granulated sugar
1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
1/4 teaspoon celery salt
1/8 teaspoon ground red pepper
1/8 teaspoon dry mustard
1 package (16 ounces) dry elbow macaroni
2 tablespoons butter
1 pint (2 cups) heavy whipping cream
1/4 cup finely chopped onion
1/2 pound (8 ounces) processed American cheese, cut up
3/4 cup (3 ounces) shredded sharp Cheddar cheese
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon ground white pepperDirections- Combine black pepper, paprika, sugar, kosher salt, celery salt, red pepper and mustard in small bowl; set aside.
- Preheat grill to medium heat. Rub seasoning mixture onto sausage. Grill according to package directions until heated through, turning occasionally.
- Meanwhile, cook macaroni according to package directions.
- Melt butter in large saucepan over medium heat. Add cream and onions; mix well. Bring just to boil, stirring occasionally. Add cheese; cook until cheese is completely melted, stirring constantly with wire whisk.
- Drain macaroni. Add to cheese sauce; stir gently. Season with salt and black pepper. Serve with the grilled sausage.
